We're drawn to the unknown
So, let’s get started. The first thing I’d like you to do is to go out and buy a notebook/journal.
What do you write in this notebook/journal?
- Ideas for stories.
- Overheard conversations.
- Observations from real life.
- Beginnings of stories.
- Descriptions of locations.
- Things you hear on the radio of TV.
It will also be a place to keep all your responses to the exercises set in this course.
Some of you will be regular writers, while some of you won’t have written for a while. That’s fine. Whatever point you are at, this short, free course is your chance to get into the habit of writing regularly. It will give you a structure, as well as exercises, to help you move your writing forwards. I hope you enjoy the course as we dive into creating your science fiction world.
"In science fiction, we're always searching for new frontiers. We're drawn to the unknown." - Ridley Scott
