The Wish by Poppy Stevens


Commissioned by Young Norfolk Arts and the National Centre for Writing as part of the Young Norfolk Arts Festival 2020, "The Wish" is a poem designed to be accessible for Primary age children. This resource has been designed to support KS1/2 teachers in the teaching of reading and writing poetry in the classroom. It contains sample exercises that you can use in your own classrooms, as well as extension activities for older or more capable students.

Meet Your Tutor


Poppy Stevens is a poet, actor, and educator living in Norwich. She is also the cofounder of Grape Arts. Her writing has been commissioned by the National Centre for Writing and The Young Norfolk Arts Trust, TOAST Poetry, and BBC Radio Norfolk. Poppy works within the community delivering drama and creative writing workshops to a diverse range of people. Her work with children spans from Early Years to Key Stage 4 both in schools, alternative provisions, and community settings.
